My trip to Nepal was nothing short of incredible. Before I arrived Tsering was so attentive and helpful during our many email exchanges. This was matched as soon as I arrived and throughout my trip. Nima Sherpa led my expedition to Everest Base Camp and up Lobuche peak. His constant good energy, smiley nature and incredible skill and knowledge of the region made me feel so at ease. I truly fell in love with Nepal. After my trek, whilst in Kathmandu, they continued to take great care of me, showing me the local sites and humbly sharing their incredible stories. This was an amazing physical challenge and developed me as a person as well. I am very excited to return to Nepal and I couldn’t recommend SKA more. They’re very passionate about what they do, it’s lovely to see that, and support a family run Sherpa company. Thank you!

To visit Nepal is an amazing adventure that awakens the imagination and stimulates mind, body and spirit in equal measure.
During such a unique opportunity, it makes all the difference to be supported and hosted by those who put so much effort into
really understanding their clients, building deep and meaningful relationships, and doing all that they possibly can to ensure that
each and every detail of the trip is an enormous treat and privilege for those new to the experience.

When working with SKA, one is able to daily witness their incredible warmth, vast experience, and a depth of wisdom around so many areas including
hospitality, trekking, mountaineering and logistics.  It was a great privilege to travel with them on a shared journey of adventure and growth.

We prioritise wonderful experiences for our clients, wherever we go in the world, and wouldn’t consider partnering with anyone else in the Himalayas.
SKAs range of services are simply in a unique and exceptional category, reserved for those who want the very best'

SKA Adventures have provided me with the all round experience I was hoping for.
Nima Kanchha Sherpa and Tsering Sangpo Sherpa are two of the most humble human beings I’ve ever had the privilege of meeting.
The most kind and courteous people who’s objective is for you/me to have the most enjoyable and rewarding experience open to you.
As with most things in life you will get out of this what you put in to it.
The physical trek up the mountains culminating in the arrival at ‘Namche’ with the spiritual retreat followed by the return trek back to ‘Lukla’ mirrors the awakening and revelation as well as hardship I experienced during the retreat itself under the guidance of Tsering. I honestly believe you and I will be better people for the experience. I whole heartedly recommend S.K.A to anyone wishing to enjoy a truly worthwhile and meaningful experience in Nepal and the Himalayas.
Best regards

I highly recommend Tsering Sherpa of Sherpa Khumbiyila Adventures. He was our friend and trekking guide for our June 2022 Poon Hill trek in the Annapurna region and definitely made the trek a fun local experience that involved connecting to people we met at the lodges along the way. Highlights included eating pa-ge, a type of local fermented rice pudding in Tadapani while sitting around the fire with the lodge's cat; the ethereal Himalaya vistas we were able to see, despite the fact that we were trekking at the start of monsoon season in the beginning of June; trying traditional Gurung dress in Gandruk; singing Nepali songs whilst playing madal and guitar; eating Sherpa food like tingmo and shabhaley; and enjoyable + deep philosophical conversations ascending from Tikedhunga all the way to Pokhara Lakeside.

In Boudhanath, we also met Tsering's cousin Nima Sherpa who told us some impressive and compelling stories of his 7x Everest summits!

I cannot wait to see Tsering again, hopefully in the context of visiting his hometown and the Gokyo Lake trek in the Everest region or even in Bhutan!  Thank you so much for everything!

In September 2019 I left with SKA for Cho Oyu. My goal was to climb the mountain without bottled oxygen and then ski down.

Even before my departure I was very fond of Tsering Sherpa and Nima Sherpa. All my countless questions by e-mail were answered very quickly. Tsering picked me up at the airport. During the next days he showed me Kathmandu and I was impressed by his excellent English. He proved his ability to care for the well-being of his clients especially when he lovingly took care of my cold with fever. He pimped me up in time so that I could start acclimatizing from Lhasa and keep up with the rest of the group.

Tsering was not on the mountain itself. That is the part of Nima. Nima also speaks English very well, which makes it much easier for a tourist whose Nepali knowledge is limited to "thank you". Nima always acted very thoughtful, he is not doing such tours for the first time - you can clearly see that. It was all very well planned. Even imponderables like a buried road and a jeep that was too small for my skis could not stop them from transporting my skis safely to the mountain. For the first time Nima had a guest with skis. He took this special feature into account as well as all the other peculiarities of his guests. I was not tied into a rigid corset, but could bring my own ideas of the tour with me. A little bit of his tension was felt when I did my turns on the slopes of Cho Oyu. In retrospect, it turned out to be a running gag between us in any case, that I said up at the summit that my skis gave me as much power as a bottle of oxygen to others. That the tour with the ascent without bottled oxygen and the ski descent from the summit to camp 1 was a complete success was largely due to Nima, Tsering and his wife Sara. Back in Kathmandu we celebrated a lot and had a lot of fun with one or the other Nepalese beer.

I hope very much that I will be able to travel with them again one day.

"I am still very thankful that we had the chance to explore the Sagarmantha Nationalpark with Sherpa Adventures. My boyfriend and I were guided by a great mountaineer. He was very kind and supportive, and we both felt 100% safe during our trip. Thanks to our great Sherpa, who gave us the possibility to discover Nepal from a local perspective. Thank you so much for this unforgettable journey."

A magnificent experience! Tsering is so knowledgeable and attentive! We felt so supported during our spectacular Trek to Poon Hill, I can't recommend him highly enough! Tsering considers many important details, like where and when to find the best views, where to find the best food and tea, and how to properly pace ourselves depending on our energy and weather conditions. I appreciate how he takes the time to make lasting connections with locals along the way, and answers all of our many questions about the language and culture. This will be one great adventure of many! We are already planning our next Trek!

Thank you so much for everything! Can't wait to see you guys again!

“It was the spring of 2011 when I met Tsering and enlisted his trekking services, from the first moment until we said good bye, I thoroughly enjoyed his company. The adventure would not be the same without him. Poised with great humor, endless energy, and resourcefulness, Tsering proved to be an excellent guide, and moreover a great friend. He was always a step ahead prepared to make a suggestion to enhance our experience. He is an exemplary example of a great companion who will do everything possible to make your experience good.”

Summit pf Ama Dablam

Here are a few lines about my trip to Nepal in November 2016.

This was my second trip to Nepal with the first one two years earlier to Island Peak. Our plan this time to summit Amadablam with Sherpa Adventures.

From before leaving home to getting back to the airport SA looked after our every need and although compared to many of the adventure companies are small the guys at SA could not have been more helpful or professional.

As a fairly inexperienced climber Mt Amadablam is quite a challenge but with the training and acclimatization programme provided by SA all three of our party reached the summit on 20th November 2016, I am certain this would not have happened without their guidance.

The other thing I found really good about SKA was the fact that most members of the team were family and this was great as you were made to feel apart of the family.

Amazing Mera Peak experience with SKA last October 2018.
Right from the beginning, Tsering answered all of the pre-trip questions thoroughly and was very welcoming and accommodating to last minute changes when we arrived. Our guide Nima, a 7 times Mount Everest summiter, was super knowledgeable, calm, patient and really looked after us all the way. He pointed out interesting things to see along the way that were a bit off the direct path such as a monastery and a glacial lake which we might have missed otherwise.

Although the unfortunate weather made us, along with several other teams, turn back about 200m altitude short of the summit, we felt it was a welcoming experience to learn about when things go wrong and how to react. Although this might have not been the ideal ending, this will not be our last time climbing mountains in the Himalayas because we had such a wonderful trek all in all.

By the end of the trip, Nima and Tsering felt more like family. We were even invited for lunch at Nima's house and we spent our farewell dinner with both families.

Thanks for a great trip, Nima and Tsering! I would definitely use SKA again for future treks (next year) and recommend to anyone!

"I have visited Nepal with SKA Adventures in October 2017, trekking to Everest Base Camp. In the months leading up to the trip communication from Nima and Tsering was regular and helpful, ensuring that I was well prepared. Upon arrival in Kathmandu I was introduced to Pasang, my guide. It seemed obvious that Pasang was a professional, and that did indeed turn out to be the case. In fact, the entire operation was professional from beginning to end! Almost everything was taken care of for me, and when on a couple of occasions minor unforeseen issues arose the guys helped me to address them. Both Pasang and Kumar (our porter) were very friendly which added to my enjoyment of the experience. Last but certainly not least, on returning to Kathmandu from the mountains I received tremendous practical support from Shera. This continued the overall high level of service. Thank you Sherpa Khumbiyila Adventures for making sure that my trekking adventure was a happy and memorable one!"

My time in Nepal was really precious! Most of it was due to Sherpa khumbiyila Adventures, my Nepalese friends! Tsering was recommended by co-mum friends! They took care of the most details for the my EBC and Gokyo Lake trekking, with friendship and professionalism! Sera, Tsering and Nima were present all the time, as old friend!! My Guide Mingma was a great companion...I just had to tell him sometimes in the way " khole khole= slowly" because he is young, a good and careful guide.I have the great opportunity to spent 2 days at his wife Buddhist family in Thame Village...precious being among local and heart-full people. The other Guide Karma, stay with us for 3 days is an especial person as his family who he too us...I am so gratefull for both of them and recommend both for that trekking. Nepali people, especially Sherpa family for whom I had more contact, teached me to love this peaceful country! To come back in the near future! Thanks so much my friends Sera, Tsering, Nima, Mingma and Karma and your family! NAMASTE from my deep heart!

"We loved hiking with our guide Nima. He showed us a lot of places besides the normal pathways. Since he grew up in Solu Khumbu he knows the area really well. We always felt comfortable and we had a great time with him. He is a lovely person, always keen on learning new card games, always happy and in a good mood. The summit of Island Peak with him was save and just brilliant! Thank you very much again."

Nima Kanchha Sherpa is an accomplished climbing Sirdar of Sherpa Khumbiyila Adventures a Sherpa family run business which provided and delivered a professionally run trip you couldn't be in safer hands. From the moment we were met at the airport in Kathmandu with his cousin every detail was organised with family members playing a part and expertise they all had, this ensured our expedition was going to be safe, relaxed and an enjoyable adventure from start to finish.

The attention to detail, preparation and care in accommodation, trekking and acclimation training made us ready to climb Ama Dablam couldn't have been better.

Nima and his team new exactly the pace needed and how hard to push you which prepared us fully for a successful summit of all our team in November 2016.

Nima's expertise is apparent he is calm, patient and extremely competent and knowledgeable I couldn't recommend him and his family members more.

My experience is truly life changing we experienced the traditional Nepalese culture and traditions, joined his family not as clients but friends.
I look forward to climbing with him again.

"I had the good fortune of having Tsering Sherpa as my guide on a one week trek to Gosainkundh through Sherpa Khumbiyila Adventures. It was a fantastic experience. Tsering is one of the most generous and kind people you could meet. He has a passion and enthusiasm for the mountains that is very infectious and he is very knowledgeable about the region and the culture. Everything was well organised, and the itinerary carefully planned - we had comfortable days that weren’t too long and we arrived at our destinations in good time, something that does not always happen on treks unless you have an experienced guide. I have an awesome memory of staying at a tiny teahouse in Lorebena, where we spent the evening singing and dancing with the guesthouse owners. It is one of the fondest memories I have of Nepal."

Dear Tsering,

I am writing to thank you and the team and the team at SKA for the wonderful time my son and I had on our recent Langtang trek and a visit to Chitwan National Park.

I can’t speak highly enough of the performance of all the SKA team: Biru (driver), Naren (porter), and Pasang (guide). Their hard work, experience, and good nature ensured the trek went very smoothly.

I would also like to thank you for accompanying us to Kathmandu and Chitwan national park.

Raph and I had a great time and are looking forward to returning to Nepal to undertake another trek with SKA.

Regards and best wishes,

Michael McDonald.
