THAME VALLEY TREK

Thame Valley Trek. The Villages of World renowned Sherpas Moutaineers 2024 & 2025.

Thame is a small village in the Solukhumbu District in Nepal. It is near Mount Everest, on the salt trading route that existed between Tibet, Nepal and India. Many sherpas live in the village and it is the home of world-famous Mountaineers such as renowned Tenzing Norgay Sherpa: the first-ever Mount Everest summit in the mountaineering history, Ang Rita Sherpa: recognized as the snow leopard and Apa Sherpa: a World Recorder Everest twenty-one times Everest Summiteer.  Kami Rita Sherpa: Multi times World Record holder with 24 times Everest summteer.

Iconic value of Thame is its people who are untouched by the effects of modern civilization. Overall this place is recognized and loved by many trekkers who have been part of this small valley and her people. Thame Valley is much-loved by frequent Khumbu visitors as a little known refugee of serenity and natural beauty. After a visit to the weekly Namche bazaar, you'll follow the ancient trade route north to Tibet, still plied by trans-Himalayan traders. Fir and rhododendron forests harbour the rainbow-coloured daphe pheasant, while Himalayan tahr grazes undisturbed.

Two nights in Thame, a beautiful village famous for its tasty potatoes, allow your time to explore a famous hillside Thame monastery and the Kyrok monastery. You'll then visit Khumjung village, the home of Sherpa artists, also will be visiting the Khumjung School.
